She told a tale of a new credit collection technique where the collectors call up and ask the student to pressure their parents for more money. Devious, but obviously it works. Yet another example of why parents need to counsel their kids about credit and budgeting before sending them off to college.
Would you let your kid go through life without telling them not to smoke or explaining what drugs are? Then don’t let them be oblivious about credit cards, either.
