Cheap Way to Get Wood Scraps
18 August 2006If you’re a handyman-type and tend to make things for yourself, here’s a tip on how you can get some cheap materials: try the local high school shop teacher. Often they’ve got a ton of extra scraps of wood they can’t use anymore because they’ve already cut shapes out of the pieces for a specific project. If you’ve got a home improvement project that uses wood (many do), try going by to ask before you hit the hardware store. It can’t hurt, and you might be able to buy up what the school can’t use on the cheap.
