Treehouse Resorts or a “Treesort” For Your Next Vacation
21 August 2006There’s a whole new trend among people who like the idea of camping, but don’t want to actually go sleep with the bugs and the animals: Treehouse Bed and Breakfasts. We’re not talking about the kind of fort you build with your dad when you were a kid – these are actual buildings, with the normal amenities of a hotel – including in some cases things like a jacuzzi. As this article points out, some can cost up to a half million dollars to build. Perhaps not surprisingly, these are cheaper than many standard hotels - there’s a list of them here, and most are in the $100-$150 a night range. It’s a neat idea for a vacation because you basically don’t have to pay for anything else – go outside, and wander around enjoying nature, and when you’re done come sleep in a nice bed. Definitely not the cheapest vacation, because camping would fit that bill – but cheaper than going to Vegas.
